Eric is the owner of Shellnut Insurance & Associates and has owned his own agency since 1999. He has been in the insurance field for over 35 years, and before opening his own agency, he was one of the top agents in the state. Eric’s passions are creating a comfortable, fun environment for his employees and making sure our clients are given top notch service. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, golfing, and spending time with his family.

Tyler was born and raised in Franklin, TN and is Eric’s oldest son. He attended Battle Ground Academy for middle and high school, and he later chose to continue his education at the University of Tennessee at Martin on a golf scholarship. In 2014, he graduated with a marketing degree and decided to jump straight into the family business, where he has been a producer ever since. Tyler is a father of two, a daughter, Vivian, and a son, Wells. He loves the opportunity to educate each and every one of his clients!

Gavin is Eric’s youngest son and began working in the family business in July of 2017. He is a Franklin native who attended Battle Ground Academy for 8 years and graduated in May of 2013. After high school, Gavin accepted a golf scholarship from the University of Tennessee at Martin, where he played for 4 years and graduated with a Marketing degree in May of 2017. Gavin is married to Hannah, and they have one daughter, Greer, and a son on the way. His goal is to provide each client with exceptional service and personalized guidance.

Krissy has been with Shellnut Insurance since 2007! She has seen many changes come through the agency, and she has learned a lot in the process. There is always something new to learn in the insurance field! While saving clients’ money is important, one of her biggest goals is to provide excellent customer service. In Krissy’s spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling, hiking, trying new foods, and spending time with her family and her friends.

Katie was born and raised in Franklin, TN and attended Battle Ground Academy for elementary, middle, and high school. After high school she chose to continue her education at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Katie graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Health, Education, and Human Sciences and moved back to her hometown shortly after. She recently joined our team in November 2023 and is excited to learn more about the insurance business and help clients along the way. In her free time she enjoys spending quality time with family, especially her son, dogs, and being outdoors.

Robin became a member of the team in 2025. With 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, as both a claims adjuster and an agent, she truly enjoys connecting with clients and reviewing their coverages.
Robin is a native Tennessean who has lived in Brentwood, Smyrna, Chattanooga and Knoxville. Outside of work, she avidly supports her alma mater, the University of Tennessee, and enjoys watching them compete in all sports. She loves cooking, reading, and spending time with her sons, including her beagle, Humphrey.

Colleen Tickle has been with Shellnut Insurance since 1999 and quickly obtained her P&C license after she started with the agency. She loves being able to work with clients and educate them on their insurance needs. She’s also been told she has the “gift of gab,” but her clients do appreciate the personalization she gives them. Colleen is originally from Daytona Beach, Florida, but she has lived in Tennessee for most of her life. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, especially her sweet grandchildren, traveling, staying active, and outdoor activities.

Hannah is a native of Paris, TN, but moved to Nashville in May of 2017. She became Director of Marketing for Shellnut Insurance in June of 2018. Hannah graduated with a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a minor in Psychology. In her free time, she enjoys spoiling her Toy Aussie, Nala. Hannah served our state as Miss Tennessee 2015 and still has a passion for volunteering. She is married to Gavin, and they have one daughter, Greer, and a son on the way!

As the most “well-behaved” mascot, Macie ensures that everyone stays calm, cool, and collected in the office. She is a black tri, Miniature Australian Shepherd who joined the Shellnut family in 2017. She loves playing keep away from Jax and Nala, but her favorite thing to do is take long walks with her parents. If you come visit her, she might even show off a few of her tricks!

Owners: Gavin and Hannah
Don’t let her size fool you; she’s the boss! She may be small, but Nala is the oldest, and definitely the bossiest, of the office mascots. She is a blue merle, Toy Australian Shepherd who does not believe she is only 13 pounds. Nala loves telling everyone when we have guests at the office, and you rarely see her without her frisbee!

At your service! Jax is the official Client Greeter here at Shellnut Insurance! He is a brown tri, Miniature Australian Shepherd, and he is the youngest and newest member of the Shellnut family. Jax enjoys getting lots of love, taste-testing everything, getting all of the toys out, and shadowing his dad all day long!
